Business Development Manager / Project Manager

Position Summary

EKVITA is a consulting company focusing on legal, tax and general business advisory services.   The company works with Fortune 500 clients, international financial institutions (IFIs), development organisations as well as the government of Azerbaijan. 

BDM is a senior position in the company and the person will join the company’s management team.  BDM will be responsible primarily for the management of the current portfolio of projects in the business advisory division, as well as developing the new projects currently in the pipeline.  The person will supervise a team of 3 professionals. 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage exiting portfolio of projects constantly seeking ways to improve processes and systems
• contribute to development of project management best practices, tools and techniques
• Intergrade Easy Redmine software into daily operations by enhancing its use and automation
• Develop tailored process flows and charts for all activities in the business advisory division
• Generate required analytical reporting and statistics on implemented projects
• Locate and propose potential business deals by discovering and exploring opportunities
• Liaise with international consulting firms to strengthen relationships and establish consortiums
• Prepare bid documentation according to IFIs procurement rules
• Research, plan, organise and attend related events and maintain professional networks
• Develop negotiating strategies and examine risks and potentials
• Close new business deals; negotiate contracts integrating company requirements
• Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
• Enhancing the company’s reputation locally and internationally by contributing to marketing efforts 

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Ideal candidate must have an MBA (or marketing) degree and/or certification in Project Management
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a consulting company, IFIs, and/or  development organisations
• Understand project management methodology and its application to ensure a robust and visibly efficient system of management for our teams and clients

Communication Skills

• Effective listener - able to listen and comprehend at advanced level
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills – able to express ideas concisely, unambiguously and consistently

Problem Solving and Influencing

• Identifying impediments to implementation of current portfolio to remove/minimize obstacles;
• Work closely with other team members to help them understand the value in business development

Core Skills and Competencies

• A person with the right attitude, ambitious but realistic in expectations
• High ethical and professional standards
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and to work hard when necessary
• Fluency in Azerbaijani and English (both written and spoken); Russian would be asset
• Effective computer literacy
• Ability to plan and organise work independently and with minimal supervision
• Excellent team-player, respects and supports fellow colleagues; shares knowledge extensively
• Excellent demonstrated analytical skills
• Ability and maturity to make independent judgement
