Are you our new Accountant?

The ICRC Delegation in Azerbaijan is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and qualified candidate for the position of Accountant in Baku Delegation to fulfil this new position as soon as possible. The position will be reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager.

The overall responsibilities attached to this position will include:

• Verifies data from accounting documents using standard procedures and registers them in accounting software.
• Reconciles bank accounts.
• Participates in the analyses on cash flow needs.
• Ensures staff respect the financial procedures and guidelines.
• Handles bookkeeping for small / medium financial operations.
• Executes the monthly closing according to given procedures and under minimum supervision.
• Support to the budget elaboration and its process.
• Support to the financial and analytical analysis.
• Supervises and coaches junior staff, as applicable.
• Ensure proper storage of material or equipment for the use of the department.
• Executes office work such as filing of documents, updating of lists and data for statistics purposes, writing of standard report, drafting standard correspondence.

Financial procedures, payment, control and follow up

• Respects the ICRC chart of accounts when entering expenditures, incomes, transfers, etc.
• Understands and applies ICRC financial rules.
• Enters vouchers respecting financial and logistic rules into accounting software.
• Processes bank transfers, in charge of salary cards of local employees.
• Contributes to the monthly closing procedures, budget, and quarterly balance sheet reports etc.
• Submits the daily cash statement to the person in charge of the cash.
• Prepares feedback to comments of internal auditors in collaboration with respective department managers. 
• Charges expatriate staff account for private expenses.
• Translates all kind of documents from English to Azerbaijani and reverse, as required.

Time Reporting

• In charge of the follow up Time Reporting (TR) according to TR setup, establishes TR sitrep and summarizes TR on a monthly basis.
• Enters the TR of Sub-delegation in the database.
• Explains the TR to his/her colleague if needed.

External issues

• Is in charge of all contacts/requests with Social Funds: reports (quarterly), cards for employees, payments etc. and Tax Department reports
• Is in charge of all contacts/requests with Tax Department: reports, payments etc.

Certifications/Education Required

• Relevant University degree and certification.
• Fluent knowledge of oral and written English and Azerbaijani.
• Very good Computer literacy.

Professional Experience Required

• 4 years’ work experience in a similar area of activity
• Good rigor, method and analytical skills
• Capacity to train and to supervise
