Job Profile

Socar Foster Wheeler Engineering (SFW) is looking for Project Engineers
(PE’s) to support development of projects in the Refining, Petrochemical, Chemicals, Oil & Gas sectors. These projects will range from Feasibility Studies, Conceptual Design, pre-FEED / FEED, EPCm and also PMC projects.


 Develop and keep updated project coordination procedure and carry out general technical coordination of involved specialty disciplines according to SFW engineering procedures including follow up on relevant internal technical review meetings / action plan according to project schedule milestones and directions/ actions agreed with PM / PEM.
 Collate actions and carry out the expediting and closure of the outstanding actions with engineering disciplines.
 Contribute to the project progress evaluation.
 Perform the multi-disciplinary deliverables e.g. PID’s mechanization (provision of line numbers, obtaining piping classes for the lines,
collection of instrument tags from instrumentation department, following project specifications and project symbology) , line list
(inclusion of operating, design conditions of the lines, insulation/tracing, painting data) , equipment list (inclusion of basic information about equipment’s such as: material of construction, operating and design conditions, dimensions, capacity/size, tracing, painting), tie-in list, hazardous area classification drawings and report preparation, battery limit summary tables, etc. in accordance with relevant work procedure and work instructions.
 Contribute to the preparation of technical queries.
 Preparation of material requisitions for some itemized equipment, piping items and packaged units.
 Contribute to the preparation of subcontract requisitions for mechanical works, insulation and painting works and relevant attached documents.
 Participation to the HSE design reviews i.e. plot plan and 3D model reviews, PFD & HAZID reviews, HAZOP and SIL Classification,
construction feasibility study reviews and relevant follow up activities.
 Support the development of the project permitting plan and follow up on relevant action plan.
 Attend and contribute to project review meetings with Client, engineering contractors, suppliers and subcontractors as necessary
with preparation of relevant NOMs.
 Contribute to the identification of change in the project according to the project change control procedure.


 Degree in chemical or mechanical engineering discipline.
 Good technical knowledge and experience in refinery, petrochemical, chemical, power industry related works in Engineering Companies and jobsites
 A self-motivated, proactive individual with good achievement drive and initiative, good verbal and written communication skills and
excellent ability to work in a team.
 Ability to deal proactively with senior discipline representatives in the co-ordination of their work with ability to work with technical strength.
 Ability to engage in effective dealings with both Client/Owner and detail design Contractors.
 Flexibility is essential for occasional international travel and / or for short / long assignments in other company office or at site.
 Good knowledge of English language
