Marketing Manager is responsible for development of strategic marketing plans, tactical marketing materials, and for driving sales of current and new products into specific market segment(s) of responsibility. A strategic analysis of customer needs/desires, competitors, and the regulatory environment will be used in developing strategic plans, tactical marketing plans and sales support activities. Works closely with product managers and the sales organization to achieve growth objectives. Meets financial and corporate growth objectives by performing essential duties and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares written strategic marketing plans for segments of responsibility in conjunction with management. This includes assembly and evaluation of information, ideas and recommendations from sales, and external environment.
• Provides detailed direction to the sales organization for achievement of marketing objectives in terms of specific actions and programs to be undertaken.
• Identifies market potential and marketing strategy, helps establish pricing.
• Defines, executes, and evaluates marketing campaigns (direct mail, e-commerce, web-ex seminars, advertising, etc.).
• Creates and executes effective specie specific targeted promotions into their segment of responsibility in a timely fashion.
• Budgets and oversees advertising and promotional activities including print, electronic, and direct mail. Works with the Communications Department in design, layout, and production of necessary materials.
• Develops Power Point presentations and other sales tools to support sales efforts.
• Assists Product Managers with new product ideas and product launches, specifically marketing portion of New Product Planning Manuals
• Conducts market research.
• Assists with forecasting as requested.
• May prepare training materials and execute product training to new and existing sales personnel for new product introductions and assigned product lines.
• Maintains communications and industry contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, marketing, and sales information for assigned market segments.
• Seeks out market opportunities. Based on market development, competitive moves and innovative thinking, identifies opportunities for growth based on new tactics, strategies, applications and benefits. Provides to senior management needs for products, competitive comparisons, etc. that can allow the realization of market opportunities and growth.
• Identifies and attends industry trade shows and related meetings to: 1) Promote products and services, 2) Increase knowledge of market and competitors, 3) Identify new products or product lines for acquisition, development, distribution
• Establishes marketing goals to achieve desired market share and profitability for assigned products and/or services in relation to budget and market trends.
• Monitors and analyzes financial, technological and demographic factors in the market place so that opportunities may be capitalized on and the effects of competitive activity minimized.
• Actively participates in sales activities to support market segment(s) including participation in strategic account planning (SPAs) and calling upon customers and prospects.
• Evaluates Focus Technology data and utilizes in development of strategies.
• May participate in relationship with strategic suppliers of buy-sell items.
• Prepares a monthly Marketing Activities Report.
• Attend and present at Monthly Management Meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
• Two to five years professional sales or marketing experience in agriculture or industry related field
• Poultry knowledge/background preferred
