Introduction and background:

USAID funded Women’s Participation Program (WPP) has been implemented in the country since 2011 and seeks to improve the status of women in Azerbaijan by raising public awareness on issues that affect women; improving women’s abilities to contribute to the development of small and digital entrepreneurship in the country and empower them economically.

Purpose of the Announcement: USAID funded WPP invites interested female candidates to apply for 6-8 months paid internship in State Agencies (ASAN Service Centers and affiliated Agencies).

What this initiative will give to the intern:

This initiative will assist interns: to develop their job skills; to get closely acquainted with and explore the work process in the “flagman” State Agency in the field of electronic governance; to obtain knowledge on effective career advancement; and to get a chance of becoming full time employee of the State Agency after demonstrating great learning abilities and completion of internship.

Conditions of Internship:

Each out of 25 selected interns will obtain an opportunity of getting workplace mentoring in one of the departments of ASAN Centers or affiliated Agencies located in Baku or in the regions (based on the permanent residence of the applicant in Azerbaijan). Each intern will be allocated a monthly allowance by WPP in the amount of USD 100 to cover transportation and meal expenses. No fees are required from interns.

Who is eligible to participate?

• Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan
• Fluency in Azerbaijani language (English is an advantage)
• Women at the age of 20-30 with higher education.

Notification of Selection:

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by the selection commission consisting of representatives of ASAN Service, USAID and WPP and the most successful applicants will be notified in writing by e-mail within 15 days after the deadline of application submission.
