Job Position :  Environmental Lead

Responsibilities:

1. Coordination of the Environmental Management system related activities.
2. Compilation of monthly reports and Key Performance Indicators.
3. Compilation and monitoring of Environmental programs.
4. Ensures that the Environmental Management System conforms to certification standards and Company procedures and policies
5. Carrying out inspections, reporting and monitoring of the application of the Environmental Management System.
6. Monitoring/updating of action tracking systems such that mitigation measures are implemented accordingly;
7. Providing environmental expertise, guidance, support, and education to various departmental personnel.
8. Monitor and advise changes to Legislative and regulatory requirements. Ensures that knowledge of environmental protection standards and regulations is updated and disseminated.
9. Identify, priorities and monitor significant environmental aspects and develop environmental targets and objectives related to environmental aspects/impacts. Identify methods for achieving these targets and objectives. Seek ways to minimize or eliminate the negative environmental impacts of operations within their control.
10. Carrying out assessment of substances/ chemicals in use, reviewing MSDSs and generating the appropriate chemical risk assessment, updating of chemical assessments and tracking changes in local and international legislation. Carrying out periodic inspections and monitoring of chemical handling and storage facilities.
11. Carrying out and recording noise assessment surveys and maintaining comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date noise management records. Ensuring a local action plan is in place following recommendations arising from noise assessments. Providing of technical support, guidance and advice on all aspects of hearing conservation. Monitoring that where noise assessment has shown that it is necessary, steps are taken to reduce exposure to noise as far is reasonably practicable by means other than ear protection
12. Monitoring implementation and inspecting the supply, transport and storage of Aggregates.
13. Coordination of spill response activities to minimize the risk to the environment. Monitoring the implementation and application of spill prevention. Maintaining Spill Response Kit inventory list to ensure sufficient materials are present on site to contain anticipated spills. Performing the duties of the Spill Response team leader.
14. Coordinating, carrying out and recording light surveys
15. Monitoring the implementation and maintaining the Waste Management System  including all training, monitoring, recording and reporting requirements
16. Liaison with and coordination of Contractors and subcontractors
17. Review of sub-contractors documentation and activities to ensure that BOS Shelf Environmental requirements are implemented and monitored
18. Strictly follow instructions from his / her line Supervisor
19. All equipment and tooling to be strictly operated in accordance with Company Policy / Manufacturer’s Instructions.
20. Carrying out Environmental Emergency investigation and Emergency Spill drill.

Experience

Work experience: 3-5 years at a similar or  relevant position
