Finance manager

Role Purpose/ Impact 

• To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the finance operations  
o budget development, planning & reporting; managing the accounts, treasury operations, payroll and financial reporting of projects 
To interact with the Board of Directors and advisors to Board by providing financial reports and information to ensure sound financial and operational governance 
• To work closely with the Management team to provide financial and operational monitoring and controls on all programs of work and activities, including producing reports and overseeing analysis of data, treasury and budget administration 

Key Accountabilities 

• Improve operational systems, processes -- specifically, better treasury management, management reporting, information flow and management, business process planning 
• Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of finance operations 
• Through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between operational support and program development & delivery 
• Oversee day to day processing of accounts • Reconcile monthly activity, generating year-end reports, and fulfil tax related requirements 
• Manage month end and year-end closure procedures 
• Provide financial management of all project funded activities and programs 
• Work with CEO and consultants on budgetary elements of funding applications and bids 
• Maintain archival and financial administrative files 
• Manage payroll, tax and organizational insurance arrangements 
• Manage bank accounts to ensure sufficient liquid funds available to support operations 
• Ensure that accounting requests are resolved and communicated in a timely manner to internal and external parties 
• manage financial and regulatory compliance issued including organizing all statutory returns:

• ERP skills
• MS Office; including Outlook, Access, Word & Excel 
• Knowledge of local and international taxation
• Knowledge/experience in creation of financial accounting system 
• Knowledge of IFRS reporting and budgeting 
• Strong command of English and ACCA (min F level proficiency)  

Experience

At least 3 years of experience as chief accountant or finance operations management
• Big4 or multi-national company experience is an advantage    
• System/process implementation and budget development and oversight
