REPORTS TO: Country Manager
LOCATION: KAZAKHSTAN
ROTATION: 4 WEEKS ON / 4 WEEKS OFF

JOB PURPOSE / SCOPE

This position shall create and maintain the overall project schedule to ensure optimization of resources and control of all associated project work. This position is responsible for preparation of project schedules, WBS, budgets and resources, earned value analysis and reporting, to support upstream oil and gas project evaluation and execution decisions.

The position will also have to interact with Client & other Contractor schedulers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Prepares and manages overall master project schedule, integrating the project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) using MS Project Server, scheduling software.
 Develops budget plans and earned value analysis and monitors performance against cost and schedule goals for a large sized project, or a large and complex set of work packages within a project. Identifies and analyses variances from project performance goals, develops reports depicting relevant information and recommends corrective actions.
 Evaluates critical paths in the project schedules and evaluates alternative schedule options to identify optimum project strategies or resolve problems before and during execution.
 Ability to coordinates schedules from multiple contractors and incorporate information gathered into the overall project master schedule. Monitors and forecasts progress of activities in contractors work schedules, highlights problem areas and recommends remedial actions. Developing, managing, updating, and monitoring individual project schedules for large capital projects.
 Ensuring that everything is on time so the deadlines of the project can be met. Reviewing schedule, progress and productivity of consultants and contractors, monitor and verify monthly costs and earned value, conduct change order management and control.
 Evaluating and adjusting data regarding cost status, resource requirements, commitment data and productivity variance reports. Developing and preparing monthly program and project progress summary reports.
 Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfill these.
 Develops budget plans and earned value analysis and monitors performance against cost and schedule goals for a large sized project, or a large and complex set of work packages within a project. Identifies and analyses variances from project performance goals, develops reports depicting relevant information and recommends corrective actions.
 Work closely with other department Managers to develop and maintain detailed resource loaded schedules of projects using Primavera and MS Project as required.
 Integrate multiple schedules into a master project schedule, base lining, stat using, performance measurement baseline Budget at Completion (BAC), Cost Performance Index (CPI), Schedule Performance Index (SPI), Estimate at Completion (EAC), and Estimate to Complete (ETC)
 Develop and maintain summary level schedule reports Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, and other program management tools used to support critical path analysis, near-term tasks work authorizations, priority based resource allocations, performance variances, and to support cost/schedule integration
 Supports the management team in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects, including
dashboard maintenance
 Develop schedule version control processes, policies, and procedures and ensures that they are followed on product development schedules
 Work in collaboration with Project Management team to drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting
 Schedule estimating through elicitation of stakeholders to capture estimations of new work, updated actuals and remaining work
 Identify major milestones, decision points, project life-cycle and other project events
 Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems
 Assist in defining and implementing schedule software (MS Project, Primavera, or specific program mandated software, etc.) management processes and procedures regarding scheduling conflicts/changes
 Maintain accurate records/paperwork
 Facilitate and participate in weekly schedule review

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Candidates must have high proficiency in data management processes and software associated with schedule preparation and reconciliation. This includes, MS Project Server, MS Visio professional and MS Excel software. Candidates must be willing to work in a team environment and to mentor inexperienced employees.

 5-6 years of experience using Primavera ,MS Project and MS Excel
 Subject matter expertise using Primavera / MS Project to manage Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and the supporting detailed schedules
 Extremely proficient in Primavera MS Project, MS Excel, MS Office
 Superior interpersonal and demonstrated facilitation skills, including the ability to motivate and influence others, build effective interpersonal relationships, and be able to foster and contribute to a positive and productive team environment
 Creative and innovative, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in work style to better respond to multiple requests/tasks and handle sudden changes in priorities. Able to embrace and participate in change initiatives
 Strong organizational, analytical, verbal & writing skills, to include solid experience in writing functional and technical specifications.
 Experience with Earned Value methodologies
 Experience in managing highly technical product development projects
 May be required to travel within project sites and internationally if required.
 BS/BA in Business Administration, Engineering or other relevant degree

Number of years post qualification experience: 7
Number of years relevant industry experience: 7
Number of years relevant experience in the role: 5 years as Senior/Lead Scheduler
Number of years overseas experience: 7
