Job Description

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Forklift operator / Pilot will be responsible to move packages and material around warehouse facility. He/She will be operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform Order Filler and Checker duties. Professional ability to operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into trucks, vans or storage facilities.

Must be a responsible individual with great experience in driving industrial vehicles and excellent knowledge of mechanics of Materials Handling Equipment (MHE). The goal will be to ensure that material and products will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.

Order Picking: Pull and prepare product / package and material for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets warehouse operations standards.

Responsibilities includes:

• Unloading materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stacking them to assigned places
• Locating and moving stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
• Use radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, put away, and load functions, as required
• Identifying damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
• Inspect machinery (daily) to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance and report to Facility Manager and Warehouse Manager about MHE condition
• Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs using necessary ERP / WMS systems
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
• Obtains copy of shipping order and transports material or equipment to and from designated areas in the facility
• Loading and unloading goods from vehicles such as trucks, vans, etc.
• Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility
• Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, racking systems, etc. following inventory control and WMS operator instructions
• Checking loads are secure
• Stacking empty pallets
• Performing daily MHE checks such as recharging the truck’s battery and lubricating equipment
• Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines
• Keep MHE (forklift) in ideally clean and accurate condition

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Proven experience as forklift operator / Pilot with necessary valid OSHA certification / permit. Good planning skills. Knowledge of lifting operations requirements. Excellent physical condition and coordination. High school diploma. Basic computer skills. Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights. Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Knowledge of ERP, WMS systems Good team skills to be able to work with others. Good leadership skills. Ability to fully carry out instructions. Multitasking ability. Using RFID scanner guns.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Ability to work under operational pressure and play key role within crew.
