Drilling Business Development Manager


A leading Oil & Gas company, located in in Baku, Azerbaijan is looking for an exceptional Drilling Business Development Manager, reporting to VP Commercial and Business Development. A successful incumbent will be responsible to develop new business and strong and sustainable working relationships, develop plans and implement growth strategies for the assigned client portfolio prospects based in the Drilling market. The individual will bring a proven track record and reputation in the Oil & Gas industry enabling them to build and maintain important client relationships.


• Fully understand prospective client organizations, their business models, goals and strategies (including leadership personnel, key initiatives, news and financials) to tailor business development activities
• Effectively manage business development and strategic planning area
• Monitor tender announcements and advise company’s leadership on opportunities to pursue
• Collect, monitor and disseminate data on market trends and client needs to the leadership team
• Manage price negotiation, discounts, contracts, RFP’s
• Ensure that BD activity targets are achieved and managed effectively.
• Present and deliver information to potential clients at client meetings, industry exhibits, trade shows, and conferences.
• Deliver outstanding customer service. Monitor performance and resolve or escalate issues that do not meet client expectations.



- University degree in Engineering, Science, or Business Administration.


• Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience, at least 5 of which in Oil & Gas Industry preferably in Drilling Engineering Companies.
• Must have an understanding and general competency in areas of technical specifications, standards and requirements that relate to Drilling and engineering services.
• Industry insights and client contacts in the Drilling market is beneficial.


• Ability to lead an aggressive business expansion in a dynamic market.
• Exceptional negotiating skills along with financial acumen.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize multiple on-going projects.
