POSITION: ASSISTANT HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Manage the daily activities of the Housekeeping department to include appropriate cleaning of all rooms, offices, seating areas, washrooms, restaurants, and all public spaces.
- Planning, organizing and directing team members to ensure the highest degree of guest satisfaction.
- Schedule routine inspections by supervisors of all housekeeping areas including occupied and non-occupied rooms.
- Review the housekeeping points on the guest feedback forms, take actions on guest complaints and also share guest compliments with staff members.
- Appraise appearance, discipline and efficiency of all staff under direct supervision and initiate immediate remedial action if necessary.
- Ensure all Health and Safety legislation, policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Should have an eye for detail and the ability to effectively deal with guests, other departments and housekeeping staff.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

- Previous experience in managing a team of housekeeping employees through motivation, coaching and development.
- Proficiency with general office PC applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
- Demonstrated sound organizational, coordinating and personal interface skills.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor`s degree

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 4 years experience in all aspects of Housekeeping in a large, multi-use facility required, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
