About the Job

The Protection Field Officer contributes to the implementation and monitoring of ICRC protection activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Compiles, compares and analyses information regarding the Missing Persons related to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict from a variety of sources (ICRC-internal, authorities, open sources, etc.),
• Contributes to the Missing Persons-related programs including but not limited to establishing/updating of work procedures, elaboration of Missing Persons-specific publications, updating the stakeholder mappings, organizing seminars, events… etc,
• Contributes towards the analysis of the context/situation specific to the Missing Persons file,
• Supports in institutional planning/reporting process,
• Participates in the organization and attends Missing Persons-related events (e.g. International Day of the Disappeared, dissemination sessions for authorities, seminars, round table etc.),
• Upon request, carries out other tasks such as translating documents, writing minutes of meetings, official correspondence, participating to field trips… etc,
• Maintains contact with external interlocutors within the area of responsibility.

Desired Profile and Skills

• University degree in sociology, social science, political science, law, anthropology, or a related field,
• 3 years' professional experience in a related field of activity,
• Possessing a strong degree of honesty and integrity, and a solid sense of ethics including the ability to appropriately handle confidential information,
• Very good command of the English, Azerbaijani and Russian languages,
• Very good interpersonal and communication skills,
• Very good computer literacy,
• Good rigor, method and analytical skills,
• Capacity to think strategically, to work on multiples objectives and to prioritize,
• Experience working in an international environment and/or an international organization is a strong asset,
• Cultural awareness and commitment to encourage diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
