Duties & Responsibilities:
Include, but are not limited to the following:
• Performs day to day I&C Engineering to deliver immediate operations and projects support, working closely with the Site Engineers and Project managers to resolve issues and escalate more significant issues to the Engineering team. • Ensures asset I&C Engineering risks are understood, controlled and continuously reduced. • Monitors health of I&C equipment and associated operating envelopes • Monitors KPIs for I&C equipment e.g. alarm system metrics, control loop performance, advanced control utilization etc, and initiates corrective actions as necessary. • Provides I&C Engineering support to technical changes and Engineering Queries • Performs/Reviews/Recommends technical input on Site Operations Procedures (SOPs). • Performs daily optimisation e.g. loop tuning, control scheme improvements, sequence improvements, and monitors defects in ICSS and other automation systems. • Collaborates with Engineering team on spares management, health care provision and obsolescence management. • Performs follow-up actions and observations from self-verification checks that are related to I&C Engineering. • Attend FATs for critical instrumentation/control equipment. • Provide collaborate and guide the instrument and control room technicians. • Review of safe operating limits as necessary for automation systems. • Review quality and timeliness of delivery of vendor documentation. • Support the development and review for control and automation operational documentation requiring ops input. • Support maintenance build activity which includes input into safety and environmental critical equipment. • Guide IT&S in the development of remote performance monitoring tools • Input into Stage 3 Functional Safety Assessments. In operate phase, accountabilities will be: • Provides I&C expertise to other teams by performing and reviewing complex, or non-routine I&C calculations and analyses. • Provides I&C insight to brownfield projects and modifications. • Conduct hazard identification and risk assessment processes. • Performing incident investigations and defect investigations • Ensure that cyber security risk controls are in place on the automation systems and that associated barriers are proactively managed. • Performs reliability analysis for instrumentation. • Performs planned and corrective maintenance of field instrumentation, F&G system, control systems, electrical systems and so on. • Performs instrumentation and control systems equipment calibration. • Provide front line support to installation and commissioning activities. • Conducts condition monitoring of equipment. • Performs routine backups of all controls systems software and maintain back up files with up to date revisions. • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives in assigned area of responsibility. • Identifies and orders necessary I&C related spares for maintenance and repair activities in time. • Provides engineering input for updating inventory lists with high quality and up to date data. • Identifies required consumables for job execution and order them in time to make sure stock availability. • Communicates with customer regarding condition of equipment and repair work scope. • Ensures recommendations from applicable Service Bulletins are reviewed and implemented in timely manner. • Recognizes problems and is proactive in helping to resolve them. • Participates in risk assessment for maintenance activities and contribute to Permit to Work system. • Ensures proper use of CMMS system to report, track and record all maintenance activities with high quality of data. • Ensures all completed tasks are properly completed in CMMS system and follow up WOs are raised when needed. • Ensures all company owned hand, measurement and diagnostic tools are properly maintained and calibrated in time. • Develops a good working relationship with the customer. • Coaches and mentors junior Field Service Engineers. • Ensure compliance with all company and governmental safety, environmental and health rules and regulations.
Education/Experience and Qualification:
- Minimum BSc degree in Instrument and Control Engineering or equivalent. - Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance, operations, troubleshooting and repair of I&C systems. - Exposure to PLC control systems (ABB, Emerson, Yokogawa, Honeywell, Allen Bradley, Siemens). - Proven field service experience. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Familiarity and experience with hand, measurement and testing tools. - An understanding of engineering drawings and principles. - The ability to work with minimum supervision and under pressure. - Excellent problem-solving skills. - English literacy. - Good technical writing skills. - Good knowledge of MS Office. - Experience in a similar industry is strongly preferred.
