Job Title: Coating Inspector Level 2

Location: Baku, Azerbaijan

Purpose

Conduct offshore and onshore painting inspection activities to maintain and qualify the quality of work being carried out / achieved. Coating surveying to gather existing condition data to contribute with the set-up of External Corrosion Management (ECM) database.

Functions

ESSENTIAL

• Extract piping & structural engineering information from drawings, line lists etc. transferring information into spreadsheet system
• Identify piping and structural painting fabric maintenance scope of work from project work packs
• Locate and mark up item parts on-site
• Undertake coating / corrosion condition surveys
• Undertake paint inspections
• Review and extract information from inspection and survey reports
• Record data as per the ECM process

NON-ESSENTIAL

▪ The list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake tasks that may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post
▪ Assist with any other duties as and when required
▪ Undertake specific projects as instructed by management

Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.

Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

▪ This position has NO direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• NACE Level II or equivalent coating inspector (E)
• OPITO offshore survival (E)
• UKOOA offshore medical (E)

DESIRED

▪ Rope Access Technician (P)

Knowledge, Experience, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

• Understanding of basic corrosion and corrosion protection principles (E)
• Ability to create and/or interpret various types of structural and piping technical drawings (e.g. general arrangements, P&IDs, piping isometrics, structural drawings) (E)
• Ability to interface at all levels including client and senior management (E)
• Material take off / estimating (E)
• Prioritization and organization of workload (E)
• Ability to work to tight timescales (E)
• Awareness of the business and its customers, coupled with an awareness of industry trends and how the business operates (P)
• Working offshore (E)
• Computer literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs – proficient in Excel (E)
• Ability to generate a team approach to problem solving (E)
• Good communicator both written and verbal (E)

Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.
▪ Indoors and outdoors during the day and occasionally at night
▪ Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace
▪ Work surface is stable (flat)
