Tourism Development Specialist North Central

The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) promotes tourism in Azerbaijan across various fields including hospitality, tourism agencies, exhibitions, events, tourism products, regional destination development and guide associations. Our aim is to create a sustainable industry by constantly enhancing Azerbaijan’s tourism products. To achieve this, we need a strong team of people who share our values and want to make our country a spirited tourism destination that Azerbaijanis can be proud of.


The DMO Tourism Development Specialist North Central Region is responsible for supporting and facilitating tourism development activities on behalf of STA / ATB in the North Central region of Azerbaijan.

With a focus on the districts of Oguz, Gabala, Ismailli, Shamakhi and Agsu, the Specialist is responsible for coordinating regional product development, marketing and experience development activities including making research and assessments on regional product development opportunities and challenges, collecting data and feedback from regional stakeholders, organizing / supporting / participating in tourism industry and media regional fam trips, conducting hospitality / tourism monitoring activities, and developing and delivering marketing materials / presentations and other related activities.

A particular focus of the Specialist will be on supporting the development of tourism products and experiences in the Lahij State Historical and Cultural Reserve and the Basqal State Historical and Cultural Reserve.

• Analyze and assess new regional products and services
• Be in constant communication with industry partners and Destination Management Organizations and Reserve Management Centre offices to identify regional tourism product gaps and deliver destination development solutions.
• Strongly coordinate / facilitate private sector work to create regional tourism attractions, services / facilities and experiences
• Research possible stakeholders needs to enhance the level of regional products and experiences to national and international levels
• Provide content support for development of regional brochures, magazines, website, platforms and others
• Provide support for increasing the quality of tourism service providers, identify keys gaps and coordinate training programs for tourism industry


• Higher education
• Previous experience in a web content role (6 months to 2 years, internships count towards experience)
• Proficient with MS Office
• Excellent writing, communication (AZE, ENG), time management and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail is a must
• Strong business acumen with analytical skills and problem-solving thinking
• Strong project management skills
• Strong desire and curiosity to learn, continuously improve and expand skills
• Self-starter with ability to solve problems creatively, manage multiple projects simultaneously and work with internal and external stakeholders.
